Year 11 into Year 12 Taster Day!

Year 11 into Year 12 Taster Day!

On Wednesday 2nd April 2025, we had nearly 150 of our Year 11 students spend a day as a Year 12 student in our 6th Form. Year 11 students were able to experience a range of different A Level and Vocational Lessons as a taste of what the subjects are like post-16 but also to experience the level of detail and independent study will be required to study those subjects. Year 11 students were also able to have workshops on how the 6th Form supports students applying to University and UCAS, how our outstanding personal development offer and work-related learning experiences continue to provide opportunities to our 6th Form students and hear from our current Year 12 students about the differences between Year 11 and Year 12, and advice to how to start Year 12 positively! Overall, Year 11 students gave 4.7 out of 5 for the taster day and 85% of Year 11 students who attended have confirmed that they will be staying for the 6th Form!

Quotes from the Year 11 students about the day:

“The taster lessons were extremely beneficial and very reliable to experience for myself what the Sixth Form would be like in the future.”

“I feel like it was very productive as I saw how the Sixth Form would be like and how the content would be throughout multiple subjects.”

“It gave an accurate insight to what sixth form will be like in St Augustine’s and gave important info on things I wasn’t sure on.”
