I am delighted to welcome you to St. Augustine’s Church of England High school website. We are a multi-cultural, multi-faith school with a distinctive Christian ethos. I hope you find the content useful in providing you with up to date information on our school.

St. Augustine’s is a vibrant and successful 11-19, fully comprehensive school in Kilburn/Maida vale where we encourage everyone, to “be the best that they can be”. Our students enjoy their school lives and we try to ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of the students or to improve their learning.

It is our aim that all students leave us with the skills and abilities required to be lifelong learners and positive role models in the community. We are aiming to prepare them to be citizens of the world by teaching shared values and an understanding of the world around them. We believe in the importance of forming partnerships with people from all aspects of life to enhance the learning opportunities for our students.

Every student at St. Augustine’s is treated as an individual. As a result, each student benefits from an individualised learning programme and pastoral care that suits them best. We are really keen to receive the views of students, parents/carers and members of the local community and want to act on ideas to improve our school. We are also committed to our place in the wider community and welcome ideas about how we develop relationships in our locality and beyond.

In October 2019 the High School and St Augustine’s primary school joined together in a federation to create ST Augustine’s Federated Schools known as SAFS.

I believe that Federation is continuing to benefit both schools in the following ways:

  • Continued high standards and outcomes for all children and young people
  • Improved opportunities for children and young people, including a wider and richer curriculum.
  • Shared Christian vision serving the same community.
  • A desire to continue to develop parental engagement.
  • Enriching the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of children and young people across the two schools.
  • Opportunities for collaboration across the two schools.
  • Sharing expertise across the staff team.
  • Recruiting and maintaining high quality teaching and support staff at all levels.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from primary to secondary.
  • Strengthened governance.
  • Financially more sustainable.
