Our student led committees (Eco, Charity & Wellbeing) have enjoyed a busy & successful start to the school year. Whilst our Charity Prefect & Deputy, Shahad & Lara, were supporting Mr Trigg in his Collective Worship on Love, spreading awareness of our fundraising & forthcoming events, the Eco Committee have been leading a campaign to reduce food waste, increase awareness of Reduce, Reuse & Recycle & emphasising the importance of using refillable bottles.
All committees have welcomed new members, with students from all years applying to be part of the teams, representing their forms & year groups in spreading the importance of giving, supporting, caring & kindness.
The Charity Committee currently have 4 projects to support (Shelter, Bone Sarcoma, Children in Need & AV UK) whilst the Eco Committee are preparing to lead next week's Collective Worship on Perseverance. The Wellbeing Committee are currently undergoing a 5-week training course, led by our Assistant Headteacher Miss Carney, to empower their knowledge & understanding of mental health, emotion coaching & active listening. The Committee consists of representatives from all year groups alongside 6 members of staff who were also keen to be involved.
Finally, our Wellbeing Prefects Shahad & Aisha, alongside our Prefect for Joy, Prisha, have supported Ms Holdrick in her Collective Worship on 'Joy' & spreading happiness in our community. With our Head Students leading the opening week's Collective Worship on Faith, it really has been a busy but positive start to the year for all our school leaders. We are incredibly grateful for all their hard work!
