A group of year 9 students took part in an 8-week scheme to design and build an outside structure as an improvement to our school. This time they chose to build benches and planters in the sixth form area to create a pleasant space for them outside, especially when the weather gets nicer.
This is a hands-on project which helps students develop important life skills, using their mathematical skills and teamwork, while being guided and supported by two professionals from FlowerSKills, a charitable organisation, and a facilitator from Construction Youth Trust. The progamme was funded by John Lyons Trust for a third time due to its success in previous years.
