Banding Test / Assessment Day: All Applicants who apply for a Year 7 place at St Augustine’s CE High School must attend the Assessment Day. This will be held at the school on Saturday 30th November 2019. The purpose of the Assessment is to allocate each applicant to an ability band. As we are a comprehensive school we have to ensure we take applicants of all abilities. Test results will be shared with The St Marylebone CE School (girls) and The Grey Coat Hospital ONLY. If you have not already submitted a Supplementary Application Form and Clergy Form (if available) please download these from the school website (or collect them from the school office) and bring them, completed, when you bring your child for the Banding Test. This will ensure we have all the correct information when assessing which admissions criterion your application meets.
There is no need to book in advance. Applicants should arrive PROMPTLY at 9.00am on the 30th November. Your child can expect to be here for 1 and a half hours. Anyone arriving after 9.20 may not be admitted for the test. Collection time will be from 10.30 am depending on the time your child’s group started the test. Applicants should bring with them a pencil and eraser. All applicants will be given a non verbal reasoning test and a short written ‘story’ assessment. Please make sure your child has a note of your current emergency contact phone number and brings any required medication with them,, i.e. asthma pump, Epipen, etc.
